Garden architectural salvage
Genuine antique architectural and garden features are much sought after, but are increasingly difficult to source. Architectural Elements and Garden Antiques of high quality that clients can readily integrate into their projects are quite scarce, and our preference is that they remain in situ where they were intended. However when demolition or removal is inevitable, we at BCA Antique materials take pride in giving new life to each antique stone troughs, fountain, statue, pool, well-head, trough, bench, reclaimed gate and gate posts, stone window and doorway, pediment and cornice stones, dormer window and lintel etc…
Antique Garden
BCA supply authenticity to projects across France, Europe and worldwide, and have France’s most extensive stocks of antique reclaimed architectural and garden features. Our experienced team can handle restoration of certain garden and architectural features prior to despatch, and if multiple features are required we can have reproductions hand-made with a lead time of several weeks.
In the same way as we see period decorative styles influencing fireplaces, furniture and fashion, certain architectural and garden antiques have forms, carved moulding and decoration, that correspond to the period of the house and garden in which they would fit, as though they’d been in situ from the start. Styles associated with a particular royal decor prevail in the more noble pieces, whereas others have a rustic simplicity with weathering that are of more importance, and appropriate to rural projects in many countries. For example refer to our authentic antique stone troughs section.
We clearly indicate on each stock item description whether they are antique or « reproduction », and that clarity is important when we source recently made stone features in stone, cast iron or wood. We don’t want clients to be in any doubt. Indeed we can have features made to measure if you indicate the style and dimensions required. On major projects this is important, so that continuity of style and stone type can be designed into decorative features for a garden or parkland, thereby matching the building stone and blockwork we can supply for changes of level, terraces and garden walls etc.
These antiques are in stock on display at EITHER our Normandy premises at Méry Corbon, OR our Maine & Loire premises at l’Hôtellerie-de-Flée. Discover a selection of antique gates in our showroom.
