Antique « wishing » well-head with winding gear : This picturesque antique stone well-head is the archetypal well-head of childhood fairy tales. Carved from a single block of French limestone some time in the 19th century, it was equipped with a forged iron gantry with winding gear and ratchet, bucket and chain, and protected by a little roof.
