Antique octagonal limestone well-head: This well is distinguished by its unusual octagonal shape, handcrafted from limestone centuries ago. The winding gantry, in wood combined with a wrought iron frame, has a decorative authentic appearance reminding us of traditional methods for drawing water from a well. The stone is well-preserved, with natural signs of wear that add to its charm and authenticity. The winch shows some aging marks on the wood and metal, reflecting its history.
This antique well-head is ideal for a historic courtyard or garden design. Landscape designers will in particular appreciate that it could be placed centrally in a monastic medieval style garden, either with or without its winding gantry. Authentic center-piece antique garden features are not easy to source……
