Antique Louis XIV Burgundy style fireplace
Antique Louis XIV Burgundy style fireplace: This antique reclaimed French limestone fireplace has the pronounced cantilever characteristic of Burgundy style fireplaces in Louis XIV style.
The side jambs and lintel feature a deeply sculpted broad beading that runs up and then over the fireplace opening. The stonework has been previously restored to present a tidy aspect whilst being unmistakably Truly Reclaimed. The dense French limestone from which it was carved is in a pleasing off-white with warm tones.
This chimneypiece is a Classic French feature, worthy of gracing a historic manor house or castle in Louis XIV style, or of providing an eclectic « objet d’art » in a modern environment.
