Antique Louis XV fireplace in French limestone: This splendid Louis XV style fireplace in French limestone was hand-sculpted centuries ago, but has been partially restored by an expert stone carver. The Louis XV style corresponds to his reign in the 18th century from 1715 to 1774, although this antique fireplace could have been made at a later date.

The striking centre-piece on the lintel is the finely sculpted scallop shell (Coquille Saint Jacques). The lintel and side jambs display the Classic curved and moulded Rococo features of the era, with a generous mantelpiece and gently cantilevered side jambs. The creamy coloured French limestone is particularly attractive. This antique Louis XV fireplace in French limestone fits perfectly into every decor.
