Antique Charente limestone fireplace (sold): This antique fireplace in French limestone from the Charente Region is presumed 18th century, in good original condition. This antique chimneypiece’s carved decor is fairly under-stated, which makes it suitable for a project where period authenticity is required, but not an over-elaborate design. The simple circle carved into the centre of the lintel is quite striking
