Antique Louis XVI fireplace with much wear: An antique French limestone chimneypiece in the Louis XVI style, centuries old and displaying wear & tear, and much repair …. and therein lies much of its charm. It was made from a light-toned cream French limestone featuring cannellated side jambs topped with a medallion at each end of the lintel.
It has been sympathetically cleaned and repaired, probably on several occasions. It displays original worn patina and tool marks, and is unmistakably Truly Reclaimed.
