Antique trough with inclined end

Antique trough with inclined end : This large size antique limestone trough is particularly old, and in good condition. It features an inclined end with an adjacent overflow. This is likely to have been used for washing laundry, as an incline like this is characteristic of washing troughs. There is also a low hole for emptying if required. It was hand-carved in French limestone, now well weathered and worn over time, ready for re-use as a garden feature, water storage, chilling drinks on ice, or why not washing clothes « al-fresco » ?  

Its age is no newer than 19th century, so is classified as over 100 years of age but below 250 years.
