Huge white limestone trough

Huge white limestone trough : This huge blond coloured French limestone trough is of monumental proportions and consequently quite rare. The original inlet and outlets at either end have had pipes mortared in-situ, which could easily be removed, or put back into service. There is a lower drain hole too. This superb stone trough will have been used for watering horses in a grand farmyard or more noble courtyard over the centuries.

Hand-carved in French limestone, it is now weathered and worn over time. It is ideal for re-use as a garden feature, water storage, or even for chilling drinks on ice for Al-Fresco functions. No newer than 19th century, it is classified as over 100 years of age but below 250 years.
