Antique limestone washing trough: This big heavyweight trough was hand-carved in French limestone no more recently than the 19th century, and may be older. It will make a beautiful garden water feature, or planter. Troughs such as this one were originally for the purpose of washing clothes. You can clearly see the incline at one end used for soaping and scrubbing, and the useful shelf at the other end. It remains in good condition with a great authentic patina.
