Antique French Caen limestone floor : Antique reclaimed limestone flooring, centuries-old, which has been recently cleaned on their upper surfaces and edges. Reclaimed French limestone floor which is unmistakably authentic salvaged material, with more washing required if a more pristine finished appearance is necessary. Salvaged antique limestone flooring ideal for historic property restorations or projects where reclaimed natural materials and authentic surface textures are important.
Caen limestone is well documented as having been shipped to England following William the Conqueror’s 1066 Norman Conquest. It was used in the construction of the Tower of London, Canterbury Cathedral, and Norwich Cathedral and Castle and many other historic building. Considered authentic for historic English projects as well as Normandy, French or “French theme” restoration projects.
