Pair of antique white double troughs
Pair of antique white double troughs: These antique troughs in composite stone are old but not as old as they look. Presumed 20th century they stand out for their robustness and traditional design. They each feature two distinct basins: one oval and one round, along with a Classic rounded overhang at the front. They came from stables where style was considered of importance …. even for horses ! They are easily mistaken for French limestone troughs, which would have been at least twice the value.
The troughs are rectangular, originally used for water and feed, with a natural worn patina adding character and attesting to their age. Their aesthetic allows for easy integration, whether as a decorative or functional element in a garden or historical property. Designers could choose them for wet rooms, adapting them with plumbing fixtures and fittings for unique bathrooms, greenhouses, wine cellars, or as exterior sinks near a barbecue or exterior bar.
