Cement tiles in White and Red

Reference : 00478

Cement tiles in White and Red : Decorative cement tiles which we have newly-made in the traditional way, but then we have the upper surface lightly patinated. This red and white colour choice is close to that of the Impressionist painter Claude Monet, who chose striking red and white floor tiling for the famous and much-visited dining room at his house in Giverny, Normandy. The whole house is memorable for his bold use of colour, and in the dining room his choice of yellow painted furniture set against that red & white check floor is stunning. Claude Monet lived there for forty-three years, from 1883 to 1926. The first three photos shown here are of Monet’s dining room.
