Antique fireback featuring France’s coat of arms: This antique cast-iron fireback has an unusual shape, flanked by arabesques and Classic perimeter profiles. Arabesques being a feature of the Baroque influenced era of the 17th & 18th centuries in France, we believe that this excellent fireback is of that age. The theme of its decor is France’s coat of arms, with the triple Fleur de Lys circular shield and the royal crown on top. They have stylized fronds at both sides.
