Stone fireplace in Louis XVI style with an interlaced frieze: This antique French limestone fireplace exemplifies Louis XVI style with a restrained simplicity of form, but featuring highly decorative motifs.
The lintel and jambs are carved with interlaced friezes, featuring curved patterns typical of the Louis XVI era. Additionally, true to the Louis XVI style, a floral motif with acanthus leaves is finely sculpted at each end of the lintel, framing the frieze.
