Monumental limestone fireplace circa 1560

Reference : 2024115

Monumental limestone fireplace circa 1560: This stunning antique reclaimed beige limestone fireplace features an elegant moulded cornice that highlights the nobility of the stone, and projecting corbels. Its lintel is adorned with a coat of arms bearing three Fleurs-de-Lis, a symbol of elegance and French royalty, along with the engraved date “1560.” In fact there is no particular reason to think it is younger than the 16th century.

Its impressive proportions make it a remarkable architectural feature for a noble historic interior, or for a more eclectic contemporary space, or a garden fireplace for al-fresco cooking and dining. This fireplace is perfect for a restoration project or to add unique charm to a character home.
