Antique limestone Louis-Philippe fireplace
Reference : 2023136
Antique limestone Louis-Philippe fireplace: This antique French limestone chimneypiece was hand-carved in hard Bourgogne limestone. It has the refined Classic features of the Louis-Philippe era (1830 to 1848), elegant and restrained.
The side jambs have a gentle curved cantilever leading up to fluting below the lintel mouldings. The lintel is broad, providing a wide mantel shelf. There is some damage from knocks, visible on the photos. It will find its place in a historic 19th century room, or in a more modern space where its graceful style would fit well with a contemporary interior and furniture.
