The finely sculpted details evoke the Classic and Romantic aesthetic of the 18th century Louis XVI style. The side jambs feature delicate vertical fluting, and the lintel is finely decorated with a floral frieze in its center, flanked at each end by a lyre.

The over-mantel of the stone fireplace is also a work of art in itself. It is adorned with a carved oval medallion framed at each corner by a raised circular flower. It is flanked by the pair of pilasters featuring slender raised & fielded panels, with a finely sculpted high cornice at the top.
