Hand-made weathered « Tudor » bricks

Hand-made weathered « Tudor » bricks: These well-fired little hand-made bricks are available from stock. Suitable for building traditional walls and building infill panels for historic half-timbered buildings, they are also suitable for flooring or paving. Having been fired in traditional kilns and using saw-dust for the mould release the surface texture features authentic waves and pitting, which has been enhanced by an extra process giving them a more weathered surface. Due to the degree of temperature fluctuation there is the resulting subtle colour variation of reds and pinks through to purple browns.

These photos show them in test panels laid dry, both as walling or flooring laid flat or on edge. Laid in herringbone pattern they look particularly good.
