Pair of stone lamp supports on columns
Pair of stone lamp supports on columns: This superb pair of antique twisted columns is a remarkable testament to the is beautifully crafted and weathered over time. Truly Reclaimed, they are a most unusual and we think unique pair that makes them exceptional pieces for decorating a garden, terrace, or interior space with authentic character. The antique stone has a natural patina that attests to its age.
The name in French is “Pot à Feu” which evokes an image of them lighting an outdoor event at a chateau party, or an intimate night-time rendez-vous in an episode of the BRIDGERTON series ! The upper part could hold a plant, but would originally we think have supported a burning torch of some sort, or a lantern to provide lighting. Their finely carved barleycorn twists add a highly decorative touch, highlighting their sculptural aspect.
The base is slightly flared, adding stability.
