Antique French limestone door surround
Antique French limestone door surround : This monumental stone door surround (reclaimed, salvaged) features a classic ornate but elegant style from the 18th century (typical of the Louis XVI style). The reclaimed French limestone is naturally weathered with a warm stone colour and is beautifully patinated.
The stone surround consists of two vertical supports (jambs) and a horizontal lintel. The upper lintel is topped with a wide molded cornice. Two pilasters stand on each side of the surround. Triglyphs, decorative elements composed of three vertical grooves, frame a molded rectangle.
This antique stone door surround is ideal either for building into a house facade as the entry surround for the front door, or interior doorway, or adjusted down to window height, or as a garden feature.
