Long & wide antique limestone trough
Long & wide antique limestone trough: This authentic antique reclaimed French farmyard trough was used for animal feed or watering livestock over the centuries. The age of this Truly Reclaimed limestone trough is hard to determine. It was hand-hewn from a single block of French limestone so is no « newer » than 19th century and is probably older.
It will find its place in a historic farmyard, or used as a water feature or planter in a garden or on a terrace. It could be placed as a water point for a greenhouse or at stables. Sometimes designers will use generously sized troughs such as this in a boot-room or wine cellar, where wall-mounted taps or faucets and a well-fitted waste outlet mean that it can be put into service. Interestingly, one corner is slightly angled, either because the original block it was cut from was undersize, or because it was ordered that way to better fit the space available.
