Exceptional “Art Deco” style pair of gates
Exceptional “Art Deco” style pair of gates: This wide pair of entrance gates is of exceptional quality and design. It was hand-made in forged solid steel bar and assembled partly forged, partly welded. It features the geometric alignments of the Art Deco period (generally considered from 1910 to 1939) enhanced by a stylized 4-petalled daisy-wheel as centre-pieces of each gate. Combined with the forged arrows, vertical and horizontal bars, and even pairs of circles with diagonals implying « no entry », it seems to evoke the Golden Age of the motor car.
These gates are imposing, and plenty wide enough as a vehicle access. Each gate retains its side fixings intended to be embedded into supporting masonry, whereas its weight is to be supported at the foot of the vertical side bars by a pivot.
