Aurillac – rugged new limestone flagstones : These robust “antiqued” French limestone flagstones are full of character, and are good for exteriors as well as for interiors. With the three widths and the various lengths you’ll have a great rustic stone floor looking authentic in cottages to castles, and their landscaping. The stone colors are from the same quarry but from two different strata: cream-beige and pale ocre. The flagstone edges are distressed (but without “fake pillowing”), so the historic slightly “bashed” appearance is deliberate and enhanced, particularly with lime mortar joints kept well below the upper surface. Ideal with underfloor heating.
You can grout using appropriate pre-mixed “limestone colour” mortar, or mix the raw materials traditionally yourselves. Contact us for special orders of steps, ledges, wall copings and pool surrounds etc, and even architectural and garden features made to measure.
