Antique Louis XV marble fireplace : This magnificent antique white marble fireplace is an exceptional example of the Louis XV style, presumed 19th century. It embodies the elegance and refinement typical of this era with its polished curved lines and finely sculpted details. It is in an excellent state of conservation having been restored, and is without visible cracks or damage.

The lintel is decorated with a central shell, a « Coquille St Jacques » and features delicate scrolls, typical symbols of the Rococo style. The side jambs are elegantly curved giving this fireplace grace. There are acanthus leaf at the side jamb tops providing visual support to the mantel shelf which is itself elegantly curved following the harmonious form of the lintel.

This antique Louis XV style white marble fireplace is a rare and precious chimneypiece, ideal for the historical restoration of a French house of the period, or as an antique featuring in a more eclectic contemporary interior.
