Signed Italian glazed amphora: This immaculate Italian amphora of medium size features the following inscription : 1958 DITTA FASANO FRANCESCO GROTTAGLIE TARANTO. It was hand-made in what remains a traditional ceramics centre in the province of Taranto, Apulia, in southern Italy.
It will make a splendid decorative feature either inside or outside, or be put back to use for storing olive oil or wine. Its beautiful coloured glaze is still in fine condition, and being inscribed by the maker, although dating only from 1958 it is already a collector’s item.
