Antique wild boar sculpture inspired by Foggini : This reconstituted stone wild boar (sanglier) statue was inspired by the example in marble sculpted by Giovanni Battista Foggini (1652 – 1725), whose original masterpiece from Florence is displayed in the Louvre (see the link) in the Département des Sculptures du Moyen Age, de la Renaissance et des temps modernes. This slightly smaller 19th century version, is installed onto a solid stone plinth. It is weathered having been installed as a garden feature over the years.
