Ancient granite stair treads
Ancient granite stair treads. This set of 16 steps with their moulded nosing is particularly old, presumed 17th century, from an ancient Britanny property in North West France. The granite type is rustic, and would be suitable for historic projects in other parts of France, as well as in Great Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia etc.
These 16 stair treads, some of which have a slight curve to the end, could be re-used to make a small set of historic stairs. Otherwise they’d be ideal for creating changes of level inside an authentic historic interior, or outside in a historic garden. Some of the ends have damage and are very worn, but could easily be trimmed back. The photos show them arrived off site, so they’ll be better packed and prepared for despatch.
