pair of antique stone columns
Pair of antique reclaimed French granite columns, pillars, which are centuries-old. Their provenance is from the stables of a French cavalry barracks dating from the 19th century, if not older. They were in fact supporting structural oak beams centrally in the stables, as the stables were too wide for single beams to span across. This is the last pair of several pairs now sold. Overall height 286cm (113 inches). Diameter approx 50cm (20 inches). On display at BCA’s Normandy premises at Méry Corbon, East of Caen.
