Cast-iron guard rails are a traditional feature of windows with fairly low ledges, that require them as a decorative safety feature. They generally have a wood or metal hand rail fixed along the top bar, that we can supply too. Our suggestion is our antique reclaimed oak that we’d completely re-mill with a rounded upper profile that you would varnish or paint in situ.
