Antique blue & white DESVRES tiles
Antique blue & white DESVRES tiles: This exceptional find of antique reclaimed blue and white glazed tiles features three different motifs. There are birds (a pigeon?), hunting dogs (a greyhound?) and a geometric leaf pattern. The antique white and indigo blue glaze on the tiles is well patinated and in good overall condition.
These tiles were made at the renowned DESVRES potteries in the Pas de Calais region, East of Boulogne, presumed 19th century from the era during which DESVRES was established in the 18th century and run by 10 generations of the FOURMAINTRAUX family dynasty into the 20th century.
