Weathered antique rectangular stone trough: This Truly Reclaimed antique French limestone trough was used in a farmyard for livestock food or water over the centuries. Although its age is hard to determine, this antique stone trough is no more recent than 19th century and is likely to be older. It was hand-carved from a single block of limestone which is now very weathered. It can be re-used in a traditional farmyard, or put to use as a garden planter or water feature, or positioned below a hand pump (as presented on our photos), or at a water point in a boot room or greenhouse. Sometimes designers adapt medium-sized troughs such as this one for use in an outdoor kitchen or bar near a swimming pool, ideal for keeping champagne on ice !
