Large « centre-piece » Blue Stone trough
Large « centre-piece » Blue Stone trough : This antique stone trough was used for watering livestock on a traditional farm. It was expertly hand-hewn from a single block of blue-stone from a quarry in Northern France or Belgium, and with thin walls and neat 1/4 rounds at all 4 angles it is more refined than most. Ideal for re-use for the same purpose, it could alternatively be used as a « centre-piece » water feature in a garden landscape or courtyard design, or for use as a big garden planter. Being fairly deep, clients sometimes use troughs such as these to enhance out-door living, for example at a dining area to store and serve drinks on ice. It has a drain hole. Centuries-old and Truly Reclaimed it is 19th century.
