Repro fireback « one against all » : Although recently made, it is good quality cast iron which will gain patina once installed in a functioning fireplace. It is dated 1678, with the bellicose military theme of France’s armies alone confronting multiple enemies. The royal crown and triple Fleur de Lys form the centre piece, surrounded by spears, trumpets and a pair of French cockerels, with « SEULE CONTRE TOUS » written above.
