Classic Rose Corton stone antique mantel : Classic Rose Corton stone antique mantel with particularly fine carving. Corton limestone is renowned for its high density that can be polished. This 3-piece antique fireplace is exquisite and unusual having been finely carved in Corton’s rarer pink limestone. Presumed 18th century in a Louis XV style personalized to the original owner’s taste. An experienced eye will detect (with difficulty) that is has previously been expertly repaired.
