Antique Louis XIV fireplace

Reference : 202199

Antique Louis XIV fireplace : This antique Louis XIV fireplace is a genuine truly reclaimed French chimneypiece of the late 17th (or perhaps early 18th) century. With a splendid overmantle it is finely carved in French “Tuffeau” limestone, and has received limited repairs and cleaning, which is clearly visible on the photos. Also clearly visible are the authentic areas that have received various “blows” over the centuries. Did the fine property in France’s Anjou region in which it held pride of place suffer war damage in 1944 as the Allies advanced ? It certainly looks like it, but we have no knowledge of its history in fact.
